Racing sails that will perform for years

UK Sailmakers | Northeast makes a wide selection of racing sails for all boats, sailors, and budgets. We use powerful computer modeling and analysis to design race-winning sails that meet the demands of the race course. Take advantage of our historical knowledge and computer design to generate race-winning sails.

Racing Mainsails

Your Race Main is the most utilized sail in your inventory. Whether crossing the starting line in a drifter or reefed down in 30 knots, the Race Main needs to hold a fast shape as long as possible. All of our Race Mains are custom-designed for your boat and racing conditions

Spinnakers

Just as with headsails, an inventory of spinnakers (symmetrical or asymmetrical) is necessary to cover the range of wind speeds and wind angles you encounter on the race course. Work with our staff to determine which spinnakers will serve you best.

Racing Genoas and Jibs

Customizing your racing headsail inventory will improve your boat’s performance. Having the right Headsail with the proper size, shape & weight for existing conditions is crucial on the race course. UK | Northeast will work with you to build a headsail inventory for your racing requirements and budget.

One-Design Sails

Racing_OneDesign.jpg

Winning one-design sails requires experience vetting fresh designs that conform to class rules. While we don’t make sails for all one-design classes, the ones we are involved in have done well with our sails for years.

Storm Sails

Storm sails provide the confidence and control needed when conditions deteriorate. There are three sails classified as storm sails: a heavy weather jib, a storm jib, and a storm trysail. All three are a must for boats heading offshore.

Racing Options & Accessories

Since many club and regional racers use one set of sails for both racing and cruising, many of the options and accessories are popular for all sailors. If fact, shorthanded racers and cruising couples have similar sail-handling needs.

At UK Sailmakers Northeast, we’re proud of our 78 years of making custom-made sails right here in the USA. Starting with the design, to milling the sailcloth, to constructing the sail and finishing the corners, we provide genuine craftsmanship – all done right here in the continental United States.
