At Northeast Sail Loft you will find an expanded staff of sailmakers and service technicians. Our group of sailmaking professionals will service or repair sails from any sailmaker – with quality at a fair price.
When UK Sailmakers | Northeast moved to its current Mamaroneck, NY, office location in 2024, the loft also took over the large building behind the sales office that had been part of Brewer’s Marina. UK Sailmakers | NE’s in-house sail loft is now located in that second, larger building and is operating under the name of The Northeast Sail Loft.
Service and Repair
Service is more than just fixing sails; it is how we keep sailors’ loyalty.We offer repairs, recuts, rigging and rating consultations, cleaning, storage, evaluations, and more. Annual inspection and service are key to protecting the major investment you have in your sails. When you bring in your sail for repair, even if it is minor, your sail gets the careful attention of our service team. We not only fix the matter at hand, but we look over the sail for wear spots indicating future problems, such as not covering your sail properly or chafing marks from poorly covered cotter pins
Wear & Tear
Regular sail evaluations are an important aspect of sail maintenance. As sails age, wear and tear is a normal occurrence. Bringing your sail into the loft for an evaluation can catch the early signs of preventable major repairs. Replacing webbings when they become chafed or UV damaged will prevent a future failure when you are relying on their strength.

Rips Happen
If you get a rip – large or small – bring your sail to our loft for a repair done right. In many lofts, repairs are seen as a nuisance that cuts into production time, but at UK Sailmakers | NE, lofts, repairs are always a top priority.
Concierge Service
At UK Sailmakers | Northeast, our Northeast Sail Loft strives to deliver professional, high-touch service that delivers added value to our customers – that includes our Concierge Service. Arrangements can be made for pickups and deliveries, de-rigging & installation, as well as other services for a reasonable fee. at most yacht clubs and boat yards in the tri-state area. Most in-season repairs are turned around in one week. Winter service includes a general inspection & evaluation, washing, and storage in our climate-controlled facility. Your sails and canvas will be fresh and ready for spring commissioning.

Winter Service and Storage
UK Sailmakers | Northeast’s Winter Service Program makes it easy to service and store your sails in our climate-controlled facility.
Our program offers quality repairs on all brands of sails:

Each sail receives a 10-point check-up covering the sail’s condition and performance: inspection of all edges, corners, seams, batten pockets, luff & leach tapes, luff hardware, and UV covers. Any defects discovered during the 10-point checkup will be discussed with the customer prior to any work being performed.

Professional Sail and Canvas Cleaning. A washing service is provided for those who want their sails clean, salt-free, and in optimal condition for spring commissioning.

Sail recuts and modifications, full batten conversions.

All mainsails receive new telltales when inspected, and headsail telltales are replaced as needed.
